First, I would like to address some of the incorrect lyrics. Instead of "you will ride my cat "lyric is "and you will write my epitaph". Also, the second verse reads wrong and is actually "the water is so still take your fill you hurt to kill you hurt to kill. " she also remade the song in 2012, and some of the lyrics changed a bit but not too drastically. Also I don't think they stuck because in 2015 she made the song again with the original lyrics.

Now, for me the song seems like a kind of tragic love song. Like perhaps somebody in the relationship killing the other and talking about how much pained them to do. That's a very literal translation. The song seems a bit sadistic, but at the same time it's a very calming song. While being creepy at the same time. I guess that's kind of what I like about it. I'm not exactly sure which point of view it's written from. It could be written by the person who did the killing or the one who was killed. But like I said, I'm taking it very literal.
