Red – Pieces lyrics
I'm here again
A thousand miles away from you
A broken mess, just scattered pieces of who I am
I tried so hard
Thought I could do this on my own
I've lost so much along the way

Then I'll see your face
I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name
I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole

I've come undone
But you make sense of who I am
Like puzzle pieces in your eye

Then I'll see your face
I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name
I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole!

I tried so hard! So hard!
I tried so hard!

Then I'll see your face
I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name
I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole
So you can make me whole

Ok all you guys are right in alot of ways and some of you are wrong in others. Firstly, udontcare there is more to being a christian then believing in god, even satan believes in the Alpha and the Omega. A true christian believes that Jesus Christ was the son of god who died on the cross to save our sins. They ask him to fill us with his holy spirit and guide us in our ways, we do not become perfect as many may think but we strive to not sin even though it is impossible.
Secondly the song is written by a band who is considered a "roaring lion" they write most of thier lyrics the Lord our Saviour yes, but they leave them open so that mainstream listeners can relate and maybe come to God of thier own free will if they realise that's the real point of the lyric.

Hey Fading Existence sorry to break it to you but that song does speak about Jesus their songs are about Jesus. You are right in saying that just because they are a christian band does not mean they won't be able to write about other life situations like love, relationships, family, friends, accomplishment, sadness, grief and death. Just remembe that the heart can fool you but your intution and soul won't nor will the holy spirit but you problably don't understand about the holy spirit. Nothing in this world is for guarnteed or for sure everything is always changing nothing is certain but one is god.
Kami, listen buddy hmmm I hate to assume but I know your not a
    Christian.
Bekah how old are you why do you say think come on girly say like you mean don't say I think say this is about the void and emptiness that is real you want judt shrivel up and die but when you find that one reall consistent never ending or non stop loving and affection true love the one and only Jesus can fill that horrible disgusting emty shell of us well it messy, painful, hopeless and lonely world without him. Amen!

I know I'm replying to A really old thread (Really old) but I did have to put something out there. Intuneric verse commented on being atheist, but still being able to see the meaning of the song red intended in pieces, which is how when falling apart finding that someone that can help you, reach out to you, give you comfort, love and healing that you have sought. What you have described is god. Not to mention how deeply the song resonates within you. That's your soul reaching out for what god instilled in us when he created us, to love him back. Its such A beautiful sight when one steps back and can see the way god works through us to reach another.

It's simply crying out of the ashes of what you've done and tried to do to a savior to save you. All your actions have left you in pieces and you tried so hard just to pick them up yourself that you realize you can't and you have to turn to this savior. You have to be saved. And there they are. You see them. You know they're going to save you. And with their help, you know you can get it all back. So you go to them, in absolute crushed pieces, so they can save you.
God. A good friend. A loved one. It's all relative to who's listening.

This song doesn't have to be thought of as a reference to god or religion. A song can speak its message to anybody regardless of belief, and the message doesn't have to be the same for everybody. I'm atheist, and not afraid to admit it, but this song still resonates deeply with me and carries a powerful message, a story.
The first time I listened to this song, it touched my heart. This song has a deep meaning behind it. To me, this is the story of having so much happen in your life, everything is falling apart, and you need someone to help you up. Then you find someone, they call out to you. You find someone who gives you the help, the comfort, healing and love you've so desperately sought for so long.

I'm sorry, but I agree with fading existence. This song may have been written about god, and all you christians can have fun with that, but for those of us who aren't christian, it takes on a completely different meaning. I've actually been trying to become christian, but then I see something like this, where christians gang up on a non-christian because he has his own opinion and it's different, and I think "wait... Why am i trying to become that? "

Just like a lot of other Christian bands, Red writes songs that are applicable to all people, although they have special meanings for Christians. It's good to view this song and others like it in different contexts- which ever one that is to help you with the situation your currently in. But I ask all those who feel so compelled, to use these songs as a divine dialogue: to listen to God's message of love for you through them. This song in particular has a very deep meaning and it never ceases to comfort me and bring me peace.

Where there is an absence, or replacement of the message of salvation as voiced by Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, there is an absence of salvation as defined by God through His only begotten Son.
A Christian is defined in the Bible by Christ Himself. There is no other way to be saved. Jesus Christ is not one with anyone, or anything but His Father in Heaven. (John 17).

F*k that. Its not what you think the song means. What it means to you cracka. This song to me means. That ok. I found me a wonderful girl. I've cried and cried. Wanting to do bad s*t to my self. Overdosing, cutting, hanging. The works. But since I met this girl. I feel I'm slowly becoming happier. Like my puzzle pieces are finally coming together and I'm feeling more complete. Everything I need and want are finally in front of my face and I can reach out and touch it. Take it for my own. This song is more than just about "Jesus Christ" or the "Lord" not everyone believes in that rubbish, thank you. Its more personal problems then g* religious s*t. Just cuz they Christian band, doesn't mean they can't write out whats in their heart for a significant other. That it all has to be about the "Lord" it aint right. Yea, that's what it means to me. Finding someone who can finally put you together and make you feel whole. Complete happiness.
