Redbone – Come And Get Your Love lyrics
Hey (hey) What's the matter with your head? yeah...
Hey (hey) What's the matter with your mind and all your sighing?
And-a ooh-ohh
Hey (hey) Nothin's a matter with your head, baby, find it
Come on and find it
Hell, with it, baby, 'cause you're fine and you're mine
And you look so divine

Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love

Hey (hey) What's the matter with your feel right?
Don't you feel right, baby?
Hey, oh, yeah, get it from the main vine, alright
I said-a find it, find it, darling, love it
If you like it, yeah-eh
Hey (hey) It's your business if you want some
Take some, get it together, baby

Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love

Come and get your love, come and get your love
Come and get your love, now
Come and get your love, come and get your love
Come and get your love, now
Come and get your love, come and get your love
Come and get your love, now
Come and get your love, come and get your love
Come and get your love, now

Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love

Come and get your love

Hey (hey) What's the matter with your feel right?
Don't you feel right, baby?
Hey, oh, yeah, get it from the main vine, alright

La,la,la,la,la,la, (come and get your love)
La,la,la,la,la,la, (come and get your love)
La,la,la,la,la,la, (come and get your love)
La,la,la,la,la,la, (come and get your love)
La,la.la,la,la,la,la,la,la (come and get your love)
La,la.la,la,la,la,la,la,la (come and get your love)
La,la.la,la,la,la, (come and get your love)
La,la.la,la,la,la,la,la,la (come and get your love)

Well, well, well what have we got here? Come and Get Your Love by Redbone? Yes it appears that way. I love this song so much! Its part of the best soundtrack of all time; Awesome Mix Vol, 1 courtesy of Marvel's new film Guardians of the Galaxy, the highest grossing film of 2014! I love Peter Quill, aka Star Lord's dance to this groovy little number at the beginning of the best film of 2014! The way the maroon trench coat works so perfectly with his dance moves. It kills me! You know he made that whole routine up himself? Aww the wonders of Chris Pratt. Oh yeah this song is basically about some women confused about her feelings for someone and her boyfriend (I'm guessing here) wants her to make up her mind and "come and get your love." Go watch guardians of the galaxy now!

there's a lot of shamanism in the song. He knows that his girl is a little out of place, currently not happy with something she doesnt know why, something disturbs her, she believes it is the hair or something physical, but he believes it is in the spiritual world of the ancestors the answer, where her mind wanders. Its in the world of the invisible and her mind wanders through bad regions, and he, by the rhythm of the dance and the cadence of his voice, like a mantra repeating in a magical way (which even hypnotizes us that we hear), guide her paths on the regions of the ancestral world. without understanding the native way of seeing the world, you cannot understand music.

Interesting to see all the interpretations. Mine - it's a guy building up his girlfriend's confidence. The lyrics often misunderstood, wrongly stated. He's saying first, quoting his girlfriend, "what's the matter with your hair, oh yeah?" then following lines, "nothing the matter with your sign and your mind and oh oh oh.." He just appreciates her more than she does herself.
And it's "get it from the main vine" - the best, cuz she's the best. She's fine, and she's mine and she, yup - looks so divine (with that wonderful glottal stop, two syllable 'divine' by the wonderful Lolly.)
Somewhere there's an interview with Pat and he clarifies the lyrics. Wish Lolly was still here, he was amazing.

No, no, no to all! This song is actually about a couple. The woman is in fact feeling a little aroused or quite frankly, horny; and is feeling a lil bit "embarrassed" because part of her feels its wrong to lust after a man like that, when it typically is the man lusting after a woman, and the other part wants to, for lack of a better expression, just pounce on him and take some loving, lol. His lyrics "what's the matter with your head", is basically saying, baby why are you trippen n beating yourself up for your thoughts - there's nothing wrong with your head or what you are thinking about. You look divine, and you're all mine, is saying you are just as hot n gorgeous as you think I am, and you are my woman, so whats the issue with it? It's not wrong. And "come and get your love" means quite literally - come and get some of this love making girl. Lol. Love the songs with "hidden sensual meanings"! For example, Jungle Boogie is code name for having sex. Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady" is talking about how she wants the guy to physically move while having sex! Who knew, right?

Think about it when was the song written. This song is about tripping on acid or smoking the most awesome skunk weed out there (or the peace pipe). I'm older now but in my youth I dropped the little bit of acid here and there before high school and some parties and this song would have been the title of those days. Not so much the smoking pot for me, but I still know people today who feel that way when they smoke it as long as it's not that synthetic crap. As I know a lot of the songs back in that time (with older brothers and sisters) I think a lot of songs had different meanings like "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" I didn't know that meant an acid trip. David Bowie God rest his soul, The Man on the Moon, Major Tom, The Beatles where to even start with them, Prince "Little Red Corvette", Annie Christian and "99 Red Balloons" - I forgot who sung that, awesome dance song, but really the Russian bombers. To tell you the truth I like the songs of the sixties and seventies. When you sing the words not really knowing the meaning, but it had an awesome beat and the words that you did here we're kind of Rosie June clever lyrics. Today there's no hiding the meanings of the songs that are out today you can smoke pot get laid talk about a big butts, drunk on tequila, take a baseball bat to your boyfriends truck, roll up in your Cadillac put a cap in a rappers ass, get wit his girl and she just done blow all your money up her nose. So sorry getting off topic don't care what the song means I love it and it was the perfect song for guardians of the galaxy when my boy Chris Pratt danced his way up to hottest man, and we'll lets just say also danced his way into my I'll say heart. Any girl that is not 90 or over; knows what I'm talkin' bout know what I mean. Hell even 90 year old women love him. They can cook for him however I want to cook with him lol. Tried to keep it clean. God speed peeps.

First of all, the use of the word "Hail" is unique and wonderful. I hear it as a spiritual chant of joy. The meaning I hear in the in the rest of the song is a man coaxing his lover to get out of her head and allow herself to be fully present in her body and make love with him. I have received similar encouragement from a lover with whom I have a great physical relationship with. Women are usually raised with a ton of mixed societal messages about having sex, enjoying sex, wanting sex, etc., etc., so that even within an established intimate relationship they may have difficulty appreciating the experience for the simple joyful pleasure it is. Also, the physiological differences in male and female arousal often leads to this type of intellectual foreplay. It is confident, strong while gentle and understanding - basically very hot.

Watch the video and look into Pat Vegas' eyes as he sings it. You'll see a glint and playfulness there. The man sings with a smile that just makes you happy, full of expectation and without a worry in the world. ...so divine. Come here, girl, I am your love, I am waiting here, come and get your love.

This is a very catchy and upbeat song musically, and I've always loved it. It is also extremely misogynistic. He's talking about his dick the whole time. He's basically saying to his girlfriend, "I don't care if you have a headache, bitch, get over here and fuck me. You look good and that's all that matters to me." A typical selfish and superficial male perspective.

I'm too much in my head. Feelings are complicated. I have to understand and "feel right" about what is going on, when it is hard, because so much negative is coming at me, too. I have to make sure the mainline is love, and not some hijacking poisoner, out to dupe me --kind of like jacob trusting laban only to have laban s***w him and give him a woman he didn't really love, because he wanted jacob to work for him for another seven years. I have spent too long in apprenticship--got to be really careful.
