I know they were a christian band, I know things about some people feeling betrayed. Their songs do still hold a meaning, It's the pop and country, as well as gospel music that's all the same. It seems like most things are going mainstream. However they're a symbol to me that love songs can be different, bands can change your life, and that you can move on from your past. I've spent most of my childhood bullied. In fact it's been the reason I've started searching for music that understood my pain and my struggles. For me Skillet is my gateway into feeling better, into being understood. Because of them I've found the music I so desperately needed to here as a young lady. Because I didn't have anyone to teach me about needing anyone or about needing to be different. This group is the band that's saved my life time ant time again and I will always be indebted to them. I'm so grateful that I had them around to listen to. I no longer have to struggle with my weight, suicidal thoughts, depression, bulimia, and my unusual personality. There will always be room for improvement now, I'm finally a healthy person and I've been able to overcome so much on my own with the support of my friends in the music world and a very special friend of mine. I'm not longer struggling with myself.
