To me, this song is my silent prayer and my strength. I tend to make a lot of excuses and find some reason to keep on hiding and not get out and make the difference in myself that I want to see. I am broken, yet I will always sing my song. No matter the changes that have to be made, I keep on living. This song gives me hope and strength. It rebuilds me. Gives me a new look for tomorrow. Sometimes, it is the only thing that gets me hrough the night. I share this song with many others, hoping they will seek the refuge I do. We all make mistakes, does that make us bad? No. It only makes us human. I can't write out all I have to sat with this song, there isn't enough space in the world. Each time I listen, it shows me a new hope.

For me, this song is meant for the underdog in everyone. People who have done things that they know people wouldn't, that would want changed, that's courage. Courage is doing what we want, no matter what others think. But courage is also how well you hide your pain. Courage is rising above when times are tough. The courage in people is when your special in your own unique way, being someone you want to be, not what others want you to be. Courage is what you stand up for. Courage is a fearless act done by someone. It doesn't matter how much bravery or strength you have, courage is showing the world what you are and what you can achieve. Courage is being yourself.

For a performance A friend of mine wanted to sing this song but she got stage fright she asked me to sing it with but I couldn't because I too had a performance. I told her it would be Ok and I told her to remember the meaning of the son so she got up their and sang her heart out I was so happy for her she got off stage beaming. Everyone loved her. She sang the song for her family but Personally I think without realizing it was for her.
