Molina – Hey Kids lyrics
[Hook: Molina]
Hey kids
Into dust together
Hey kids
Eyelids
Heavy as leather
Eyelids

[Verse 1: Molina]
Fluffy days and nights
Looking clear but never recognized
Just hear your manic speech
Turning insidious

[Hook: Molina]
Hey kids
Into dust together
Hey kids
Eyelids
Heavy as leather

Eyelids

[Verse 2: Late Verlane]
Freaky company
Luminious hours in the morning
Out on this plastic beach
Turning obseddion

[Hook: Molina]
Hey kids
Into dust together
Hey kids
Eyelids
Heavy as leather
Eyelids
Hey kids
Into dust together
Hey kids
Eyelids
Heavy as leather
Eyelids

Though this is obviously my own interpretation, with some inspiration from the music video, I believe this song is about the pressures of growing up, the desire of kids to achieve recognition for themselves, and struggle that comes in the process. For example, the main chorus "Hey kids/Into dust together" describes how kids often burn out due to overwork (therefore becoming "dust"). Afterwards, the line "Eyelids/Heavy as leather" potentially refers to the exhaustion that comes from this, thus eyelids being called "heavy as leather" (drooping). Next, the line "Looking clear but never recognized" refers to kids' accomplishments being seen as "good," yet the kids are never truly recognized for themselves - only their achievements. The second verse "Freaky company/Luminous hours in the morning/Out on this plastic beach/Turning obsidian" can be interpreted as kids being forced to work with "freaky" company (a.k.a malicious adults with bad intentions) at strange hours of the day ("luminous hours in the morning") in weird spots (the "plastic beach") in order to gain the attention and recognition they so badly desire for themselves, before the chorus repeats once more. Once again, this is all my own interpretation. Amazing song!

Hi! So, this song is mostly talking about "heavy eyelids" and such. We can use this as a tool to refer. What does it mean exactly? You may ask. Well, it's mostly a way for Molina to get out her feelings and we can use this song to try and understand that "Hey Molina must be quite tired." Well...not exactly. Most songs are either a way to get out emotions songwriters feel, and I feel like Molina is trying to get out her feelings through a song. I love this song honestly, and it just makes a great short tune that is absolutely incredible. So, overall, what can we gather from this?

this is sounds like a child being indoctrinated into a doomsday cult in its final stages - its got the soft femme vocals and angelic choir in the background that get contrasted with the darker insinuations of the lyrics, or at least thats how i like to interpret this song.

I believe that the meaning of this song molina hey kids is about how rough life is, this song describes feelings that are hard most of the time, and in this part (hey kids Into dust together) its referring to stress as kids also feel stress, and more than 1 can feel that same emotion. (Eyelids heavy as leather) referring to some kids having trouble sleeping, like what insomnia is like and as a result their eyes feel heavy (Looking clear but never recognised) is stress, showing the stress many kids go through yet it isn't recognized (Luminous hours in the morning) represents how a child may feel so tired they see the sky as night time, so its luminous to them even during morning time, yet they can't sleep or they get in trouble (out on this plastic beach) this beach means possible hope/light to fix their issue only to find most of it lies they have been told (turning obsidian) means life is hard but some see it as easy, the more obsidian the harder life will get for the kids (just hear your manic speech) is misunderstood kids, trying to tell the parent many struggles they are facing but gets a manic speech in return, lastly (fluffy days and nights) would represent the soft childhood many children had until it fades away, so overall i would describe this song as a simple explanation on how life can be tough even though it started off as easy.

The first comment is probably right not sure if that is the correct meaning it could mean being anarecit since the character in the video looked very skinny and then passed out due to not eating and maybe the character was jealous of ohter people being better then them or they were in a relationship with the teacher and was in love with the teacher so they were jealous when they were around ohter students witch is why they kissed at the end wait what if they didn't want to see the teacher with ohter students and they were fighting and working so hard fro there attention that they just died when they saw them with ohter students but came back when the teacher kissed them

I think this song is about a cult leader getting exposed and telling their followers to burn themselves alive along with themselves. What makes me think this is that the lines "Into dust together"(Them burning into ash from the flames),"Eyelids Heavy as leather"(Their skin becoming leathery due to the flames),"Just hear your manic speech"(The cult leader preaching their word),"Turning insidious"(The cult leader's actions leading to the deaths of many),"Freaky company"(The cult getting busted),"Out on this plastic beach"(The place where the fire happens),"Turning obsidian"(The fire turning the sand on the beach into Obsidian). I can also draw connections of the cult leader talking to kids from "Hey kids". "Fluffy days and nights" meaning that before they realized the cult was bad, their perception was nice. "Looking clear but never recognized" meaning they didn't see the lies of the cult. "Luminous hours in the morning" is when the fire takes place.

Boy I dunno guys...I think some of the interpretations are interesting but if this is the official music video, then I'd say it has a lot of clues. It's not lost on me that the ballet teacher is an attractive young man and so part of the collapse/resuscitation was simply a ruse to get him to kiss her (maybe just out of boredom perhaps?). Why else would she be holding flowers and smiling after he kissed her? The kids are bored and their minds want to be free...they're left to daydream when their day turns insidious (and their minds to obsidian). "Plastic beach" could simply refer to fakeness/phoniness—that they're practicing their ballet moves for a performance but it's all a facade. I love evocative lyrics that are ambiguous.

I think that in this song it could mean stuff like kids being over worked or forced to do stuff. In the course "into dust together" it could be a metaphor for being burnt out. In the music video it seems to be a girl in ballet stretching. She is watching the other girls. When the song says "freaky company" I believed this to mean bad people with bad intentions. And plastic beach could be the weird places the people take them or how much the world or people can be fake like plastic. In the music video she seems to have past out just to get kissed I think but this is all just what I think. This is all just what I believe.
