I think tht this song is a refernce to aruthurs heavy drug use and his tsruggle to 'get along' with people due to his constant highness. As well as this, arthur is struggling to come to terms witrh who he relly is and see the day as the 'wonderful kind' due to his deep depression which stemmed from his troublsome childhood and difficult transition from female to male.

Today is the kind of day where we must learn to do various things such as try new things, communicate, and most importantly, get along with the people around us. Today can actually mean any day, not just whenever you decide to hear this awesome theme song. (filler to meet 50 word minimum).

I personally believe that this song symbolizes the social life of someone who is depressed. Telling people that "its a wonderful day". The fact that this is in the chorus might symbolize the repetetive mindset you will get into. You tell yourself this over and over, hoping that you'll start believing it. Or, i dont know, its just an actual upbeat song.
