Dottie Rambo – The Holy Hills Of Heaven Call Me lyrics
The holy hills of Heaven call me
To mansions bright across the sea
Where loved ones wait and crowns are given
When the hills of home start calling me

This house of clay is but a prison
Bars of bone hold my soul

But the doors of clay are gonna burst wide open
When the angel sets my spirit free
I'll take my flight like a mighty eagle
When the hills of home start calling me

I see loved ones over yonder
Tears are gone and hearts are free
And from the throne of my Savior beckons
And the hills of home are calling me

This house of clay is but a prison
Bars of bone hold my soul
But the doors of clay are gonna burst wide open
When the angel sets my spirit free
I'll take my flight like a mighty eagle
When the hills of home start calling me
Calling me

Well it wells my eyes with tears of joy for the hope that awaits us over yonder. When this jar of clay in which eternal life is hidden will burst open, releasing the life within to fly away to the home prepared for the saints of the Living God, how does this feeling not feel you with tears of joy for the expectation. My brother/sister are you ready? Are you washed in the Blood of the Lamb? Are you clothe in his Righteousness? Make haste its nearer than you think.

My junior choir director usually sang this song as a solo/duet with another person, several years ago in church. I never really knew all of the lyrics, then. However, this morning on my way to work, I found myself humming this song. As soon as I got to work I googled the lyrics and my God, it took me way back when the church/Christians saw ourselves, literally as pilgrims passing through this world. Somehow, is seems as if the church has gotten so comfortable being here and our eschatological experience means little or nothing. However, this song is such a sweet reminder that my Savior, Lord and King Jesus is coming back for me. I look forward to that day, whether by death in Christ or to be caught up in the rapture.

When your body is weakened, in pain, sickness, old age and starting to fail. A person both feels and knows that they have NEVER been without their dirt/dust body then a person can hear Heaven calling their spirit back to the Creator of Life. A person begins a new life in a Heavenly realm. Pray that you faith fails not!

It's one of the best songs that I have ever heard. Loved ones gone before do watch over us. Listening to this song is like watching The Apostle Paul telling us that I have fought a good fight of faith and the holly hills of Heaven call me to get my crown.

To those who are saved, this song is an affirmation of our faith. We are not dying, rather we are passing over into a new life. Excitement swells in our souls as we contemplate, busting out of this prison, this house of clay. Our journey to the holy hills of heaven, meeting our loved ones and seeing jesus, is a joyous event. No more pain, work, or heartache. Were on a permanent vacation with jesus and the saints.

This is a beautiful song; the lyrics are so well written; I become very emotional when I sing it.. I sing to my Lord Jesus like no one is listening... like no one else exist around me... like no one can see my tears and understand my feelings like my Saviour. It is indeed very comforting, and most of all knowing that no one loves us more than Jesus. No love is Greater than HIS! HE IS GOD!
