I love this song.!
The singer is tryin to tell the girl he is in love with that she is in his heart and that if his "heart was a house she'd be home". But they're not together. Which is why he sings. "We got older and I should've known (Do you feel alive?)
That I'd feel colder when I walk alone (Oh, but you'll survive)" But the fact remains that he's still in love with her.

Could be that the girl is looking for a place where she'd feel the warmth of affection in a family(Cause your favorite shade is navy blue) - blue is known to bring about a feeling of affection for each other. The guy let her go because he believes in her that she'll find that place(It makes me smile because you said it best) and he tries to appear calm and ok (I walk slowly when I'm on my own) but deep inside he feels sad (We got older and I should've known. That I'd feel colder when I walk alone. Yeah, but frankly I still feel alone). Only if his heart was a home, thered be no need for the girl to leave(If my heart was a house you'd be home).

I think the song is about: the boy is deeply in love with this girl. But they had broken up and she'll be fine without him but he can't live without her. (that's what he meant by "i'd feel colder when i walk alone oh,but you'll survive. ) and he keeps trying to convince her he was all she ever needed and she never had to leave because she is "right at home" in his heart. It's really sweet and sad when you think about it.

Wow, this song is so amazing. It puts a smile on my face, seriously(: it reminds me so much of this guy, omg. I love it.
Recently I've lost love of all my stupid meaningless life. I'm trying to survive now. It's amazing how you was able to get that feeling (smile on your face). Because obviously, you missing him alot. Please, help me.

Oh my goodness you guys are gonna give me a heart attack. The meaning of the songs that you put are so g**. If you knew anything about his music you'd know that he's optimistic. And I am so sick of hearing peolpe say that it reminds them of their ex lover. I'm sorry Adam for causing "drama" on hear, cause it's a great song.
I think the song is about him being in love with some girl and that his heart is like a home or where she belongs. I think that he wants to spend the rest of his life(maybe) with this person, it's definatly not a one night stand like mosy songs these days.
Yall need to get real with these stupid high school boyfriends, because you know for fact most of them aren't gonna last. Everytime I go to read these interpritations I read "my bf, and gf", when you guys are peobably like 12. Come on? Who on here is actually like 23, and in a serious relationship where they can say"It reminds me of my bf?

It gives them serenity along with an opportunity to express how they feel.
