I think the true meaning is when you really love someone, although they make and do the wrong things to hurt you, you still keep on loving them. You don't give up. But in the end, when there's not much more you can do; you realize the fact that you were the right one. The face that all those blames for that persons wrong behavior was blamed on you. I love this song. It reminds me of my dad. I love him so much but I can't help feeling mad because he drank for some years after my parents divorce and kept his house in bad conditions so I couldn't visit with him for a year. He never drank with me around, he is a really loving and caring dad. I thought he stopped but a couple weeks ago I saw liquor bottles and stuff in his trunk. He has also been clinically depressed for a while (9 years) and he got better but he lost his job a while ago and he is depressed again. He feels guilty because he can't pay child support.
Sometimes I just feel like telling my friends everything. Like why I don't donate cans of food to the food bank when our school has the yearly food drive. I wanna just say, "i can't because my food comes from the food bank and the reason my lunches only cost 40 cents unlike yours wich cost 3 dollars is because the school helps us out. and you've never met my dad because he spends his days looking for a job and sitting in his house alone." but I can't. They can't know my secret. That I don't live a normal 12 year olds life like marrisa and pheobe think I do.

It's "no need to fit in words that you would never say".
But anyways, as far as the meaning goes. It's obvious in the beginning - She starts fights with him for not showing her any love or affection, when it's because he's off cheating on her. And she thinks it's sad, that a perfect time in her life ended off with so many tears and grey days. And she's saying that he was a waste - never did anything, never will do anything.

This song makes me cry cuz my ex (who I still like so much) cheated on me and like never talked to me while we were going out! It was so sad! He still likes me but when I try to ask him out he says I'm lying! It makes me mad so I listen to this song to calm me down and to tell myself he is not worth it! He is just a jerk face boy that will cheat on me again if I go out with him again! I love this song! (:

I agree with you for sure. Like my most recent ex cheated on me. And is now dating this other girl but he still talks to me like he wants me back but then I see them two together. I miss him so muchh. It breaks my heart every time I see him. It is always so awkward when I see him in the halls because I'm best friends with his twinn brother and his older sister. And because of me they all hate him.

This song really describe how I feel up to now bout my ex, it is so easy for him to come into my heart. And I did love him, so much. I thought all along he was feeling the same way but after a while I learned that everything I believed in, everything he said is just a lie. He never really cared after all. That's him. Cold and unfeeling. I thought it was perfect but that's it. Its over and I've already realized it by now. And I'm moving on. I'm never a loser as long as I learn from it.

This is a very sad song, but it is quite true. If you just think about it, when someone breaks up with you, you usually are a little sad and try and think why they would do that to you. You really liked them and now nothing goes right for you. So, you never think you will do that to someone else? Or maybe you already have, I don't know. But with this song it is saying that it hurts to be put down, and it is trying to say that you don't really want to do it to someone else.

This song has a lot of heart. It seems to be about an awkward relationship, or an unreturned crush. My favorite part is "And you come away with a great little story of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you". I really love this song and I think that it is one of Taylor Swift's best songs.

To me, this song has a personal meaning to it. I feel as if I can relate to taylor swift. I think this is a song about someone whom she had a crush on, and he's not even giving her a chance. She tries to get through his walls that he built, but is unsuccessful, and while she loved him, he could care less about her. He has no idea how much she cared about him. She would die for him, and she's cried over him. When she says, "i've never been anywhere cold as you. " I think that's basically saying that she has never met someone quite literally, "cold as him. " meaning, like I said previously, he won't even give her a chance, and he's cold because he's completely shutting her out. I too have experience this kind of pain, and it really does hurt.

(intro meaning): he alwys has a way of first being sweet to her, but then in the end he hurts her, nd takes the best of her. Aka her happiness? So she alwys end up makin up a fite w him. Nd shes telling him to do what he wants bc shes not what he wanted.
(chorus): how he makes her feel nd what hes said, made the day seem rainy, a form of symbolic to a sad day, gloomy. Nd the more she thinks of it, the more she feels cold or as if he were a stranger to her. And evn tho he alwys ended up messing up their relationship, she alwys stood by his side no matter what.
But in the end he doesn't care about her, nd he doesn't care if she wld die for him, or if she loved him to death. And she feels like if it all was a shame, she has nvr felt as cold as she is, with him.
