Flyleaf – Cassie lyrics
The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

[Chorus:]
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
(In the air)

[Chorus:]
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger
Say yes and pull the trigger

How many will die?
I will die
I, I,
Will say yes!
And Cassie pulled the trigger

[Chorus:]
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger
Do you believe in God
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And I will pull the trigger.

As people said, its about the Columbine shooting, a man asked Cassie if she beleived in god, if she said no he wouldnt kill her, if she said yes he would. She says yes he kills her. Then he asked that to Rachel, she says yes, he shoots her, but she doesn't die, he asked her again, she still says yes, and he shoots her again and she dies. Its about how if you really truly beleive in something that you wouldn't betray it for anything.
Love this song, love Flyleaf they Rok.

How come people say this song is about a girl name cassie who commits suicide. Every time they say that about this song. I tell them its about the columbine shooting they get all confused. And ask me then why is she pulling the trigger. Then I really get mad and they rub it in my face telling me that this song is about emos. If only they knew what this song was about then maybe they would forgive me.

What I heard: During the Columbine shooting, Cassie, a cristian matyr, was singled out and shot under a desk in the library because she was praying to god for her life to be spared. The shooter looked under, said peekaboo and shot her. Rachel was the one who was asked to question because she was a christian maytr. When asked why she said that she was raised that way.
The point to me: whenever there is a school shooting, kinda like the one in Beslam, god always keeps the best kids and lets the other ones have another chance on earth. My Russian cousins and I still fear that it could happen to us because now Beslam is a place of suffering for us.

This song is about an untrue rumor regarding Cassie Bernall and the Columbine Massacre on April 20th, 1999. It is said that either Eric Harris or Dylan Klebold, the two shooters, put a gun in her face and asked her "Do you believe in God?" to which she answered 'Yes' and was killed. The truth is that she was hiding during the shootings and praying extremely loudly, thus allowing one of the shooters to find her. Eric Harris put his head below the table under which she was hiding, said "Peek-A-Boo" and killed her with one shot. However, one girl, Valeen Schnurr, was asked if she believed in God, to which she said, " Yes, err, No, it's what my family has taught me to believe." She was then left where she stood by the Harris, unharmed. Rachel Scott was killed by four shots, but it was stated by the fbi that neither Harris nor Klebold killed someone after answering 'yes' to 'Do you believe in God? '

This song is not for emos. Cassie didn't commit suicide. Her death is that of no meaning. She died because of great cause and that is because of her faith in god.
Whenever I hear this song, I say to god, "lord, how i wish you could grant me the same courage that you showered upon cassie"
How I wish I could die for someone who died for me. How I wish I could stand by my faith in the end. I'm not that courageous, but I believe god will make me one.

Cassie is about two different girls, both of whom died in the shootings at Columbine high school. Their names were Cassie Bernall and Rachel Joy Scott. They were both asked by the shooters, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold if they believed in God, and they both said "yes", and were shot and killed for their beliefs.
Cassie's mother wrote a book called "She Said Yes", and Rachel's parents wrote a book called "Rachel's Tears". They're both beautiful books. Both girls were strong people, and stood up for what they believed in.

Ok everyone knows that flyleaf is a christan rock group. I think that the message is to stand up for your beleifs. No I never heard of cassie, but I bet cassie was a strong person. In a way she acted like jesus. When jesus stuck up for god he got killed. And now with cassie I think she was sent to earth from god as a blessing in the skies.

The story: Cassie and Rachel were under a desk when the shooter walked in. Some say he asked Cassie if she believed in God and he shot her, then Rachel. Others say that he asked Rachel. Rachel was frightened and said "Say Yes". She said yes and they were both shot.
The point: both stood for what they believed in. Any martyr for the One true God is a friend of mine.

This is about the Columbine High School shooting which I believe they caused not the two shooters. The girls teased the two shooters over and over for not go to their church and calling him atheist, so one day he shot them but he asked them if they believed in god they both said yes he said may god have mercy be on your soul. And save you and shot one then the other.

This song makes me cry every time. It is a great tribute to Cassie, she could of said no and lived, possibly, they probably would of killed her anyways, but she said yes. What I heard of Cassie was, her life was going in the wrong direction so she turned to God to straighten her life out, she attended Sunday School and such, and her life was going good. But if you read about her journal, she predicted that she would die for her belief in God.
